Tonight is the pink moon. The full moon.
The Farmer’s Almanac tells us that the name “Pink Moon” comes from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month’s celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn. According to the Wise Witches Society, this moon is known as the Hare Moon; the sacred animal was associated in Roman legends with springtime and fertility.
In this time we convert energy into creating and producing; return balance to the nerves. We Change, creating self-confidence, self-reliance, taking advantage of opportunities. It is a time to Work on temper and emotional flare-ups and selfishness. The pink moon is a time for healing. Dance beneath it and cleanse your soul.
We bathe our crystals in sea water, as the minerals are more conducive to the flow of positive energies that this rose moon provides. We dance with good intensions, asking the Earth Goddess for renewal, that she may gaze her light upon our crystals and send forth empowerment and goodwill. We sing her hymns of beauty so that she too will dance along with us, engaging in our mantra. Following this, we display our crystals in a sacred grid, setting out our goals and intensions for the month. We ask that The Goddess help revitalize our crystals so that they may lend us their energies.
“Under the glow of the Pink Moon, I channel my eternal gift of creativity. I will be passionate in pursuit of my hearts desire. I will rise to claim that which is my deepest calling. I am illuminated in seductive power, I am a potent, divine, feminine force. There are no limits to what I can manifest into being. As I weave it in my dreams, so it shall be.”
